Home of Heroes: A Sanctuary for Retired Working Dogs
Zora was born in Bosnia in June 2019 and began her path to heroism at the Global Training Centre (GTC) in Sarajevo, where she trained as an Explosive Detection Dog (EDD) with Norwegian People’s Aid. From an early age, her keen focus and strong work ethic set her apart.
She underwent her first phase of professional training in Bosnia between 2019 and early 2023. Then, Zora was deployed to Cambodia, where she continued her training at the NPA-TC Mine Action Centre in Ratanakiri Province. There, she worked as both a Mine Detection and Explosive Detection Dog, supporting operations in one of the most heavily contaminated regions of the country.
After fulfilling her duty with unwavering commitment, Zora retired in April 2024 and was welcomed into Home of Heroes just days later. Though her active service has ended, her legacy lives on in the lives she helped protect and the land she helped make safe.
Brave, alert, and deeply loyal, Zora now enjoys her peaceful retirement surrounded by care and respect, as every hero should.
