Home of Heroes: A Sanctuary for Retired Working Dogs
Eagle was born in, 2018, in Cambodia, as part of the “E-Litter” from the NPA breeding program. Though he never entered active service, his journey still reflects the value and promise of Mine Detection Dogs trained under Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA).
From September 1, 2018 to February 5, 2019, Eagle underwent basic training at the NPA Mine Action Center Training Facilities in Siem Reap Province. While he showed early potential, he was donated before accreditation and did not continue into operational fieldwork.
Eagle officially retired in 2019, and joined Home of Heroes, where he found a lifetime of love, care, and belonging.
Playful, gentle, and full of personality, Eagle has always embodied the spirit of joy. While he may not have served in the minefields like many of his siblings, he brings a different kind of service to Home of Heroes: blood donation, educating people about demining dogs and companionship, warmth, and heart.
At Home of Heroes, every dog matters, regardless of rank or record. Eagle is living proof that even without a field record, every life has purpose and every dog deserves to be honored.
Every dog deserves a safe and loving home. This page highlights important details about the dog, including their background, personality, and special care requirements.
