Home of Heroes: A Sanctuary for Retired Working Dogs
Diana was born on May 19, 2017, in Cambodia as part of the “D-Litter” from the Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA) breeding program. Bright, curious, and full of promise, Diana entered basic puppy training with hopes of becoming a Mine Detection Dog.
In 2017, she underwent early training at the NPA Mine Action Center Training Facilities in Siem Reap Province. Though she began her journey with enthusiasm, she was eventually donated to Home of Heroes before accreditation and did not progress into operational field work.
Diana officially “retired” on November 20, 2017, and joined Home of Heroes just days later, where she’s been cherished ever since.
Diana is a gentle and affectionate, active and sweet girl with a loyal and loving nature. While she didn’t serve in the field, she’s a beloved part of the Home of Heroes family, offering affection and company that makes a place feel like home. Diana is a true family member, who helps us not only save lives of animals through donating blood but also educate communities about the service and demining dogs!
At Home of Heroes, we believe that every dog matters, no matter how long or short their path of service. Diana’s life is proof that purpose is found in love, not just in work.
